Lose all your lives, and you start back from square one. If you lose, you lose an amount of lives which increases as you get further. It sounds like a mouthful but it makes sense in-game. This process repeats until there is only one team (or none!) left standing. The attack phase works simple as can be, the pets at the front of each side attack each other simultaneously, reducing the HP of the opposing pet by their attack, with any stat adjustments or abilities applied accordingly.

In Arena Mode, your team then faces off against another user’s team on the same turn as you, and the attack phase begins. Here is where I should mention there’s two modes, Arena Mode and Versus Mode. Once your gold is exhausted, you send your pets off to battle. You start with a supply of gold which you can then use to purchase pets, which serve as your units, or food, which upgrades your pets’ stats or gives them an additional ability, like summoning a pet on death. GameplayĪs an auto battler, the key to Super Auto Pets lies in strategy. Yet, I think this sort of simple, less-is-more approach doesn’t hurt the game at all, as it draws more emphasis to mechanical side of things, showing that you can still have engaging gameplay without flashy visuals or brilliant orchestral soundtracks. From a music and sounds standpoint, it doesn’t go too over the top, simple sound effects, like the noise a corresponding pet makes when you purchase one, your standard punch sounds when they attack, and so on.
